30 Days of Love

Author Nadine Sapirman, Written Feb 10, 2014

Of course, I am grateful for and appreciate the many activities, courses, and opportunities to put my faith into action at UUCSH.

There are many resources provided by the Unitarian Universalist Association as well.  How fortunate we all are to have access to webinars, blogs, podcasts, e-zines, and more in the larger Unitarian Universalist community!

We are in week 4 of the 30 Days of Love event, part of the Standing on the Side of Love campaign (www.StandingOnTheSideOfLove.org).  I’ve enjoyed getting these daily emails and reflecting on all kinds of things–from immigration rights to multi-racial identities and so much more.

The subject of today’s 30 Day of Love post is Sacred Pause.  The sacred pause is about just taking a breath—inserting a breath between stimulus and reaction.   The author, Teo Drake, says, “The sacred pause also calls me to bear witness to who’s with me—particularly when I am face-to-face with someone with whom I disagree or with whom I am in struggle—and take a moment to see the human being in front of me.”   In these situations and others, a sacred pause can be very valuable.

I encourage others to have a look at the Standing on the Side of Love web site, and 30 Days of Love posts.  Invest a few minutes in your spiritual nourishment during the week.
