Officers’ Bios

Jennifer Kitchen, President

Jen has served UUCSH in a number of elected and other roles since she and her husband Kitchen, JenScott joined in 1997 as Charter Members. She has served on the Board of Trustees twice before her current role, as well as the Nominating, Search, and Interim Search Committees. Jen enjoys working with children and has been part of the Pre-K/K teaching team in the Religious Education program for the past two years. She also helped start the monthly First Friday Game Night.

Jen used to work at a local Montessori school with children of all ages. In her spare time, she is passionate about improvisational comedy, and has studied and performed locally and in New York City.

Jackie White, Vice President

Jackie White's pictureJackie joined UUCSH in 2011 and has served in elected leadership as a member of the Nominating Committee. She has taught RE classes, served on the RE Vision Team, and is currently a FLASH advisor.  She is a member of the choir and has been the chair of the Service Auction for several years. Jackie holds a PhD in analytical chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has worked at various pharmaceutical companies and is currently a Director in the Investigational Material Supply Chain group at Celgene. In her spare time, Jackie enjoys gardening, quilting and cooking.

Frank Hershkowitz, Treasurer

Frank joined UUCSH in 1998 and has served in elected leadership as a member of the Board of Trustees as Treasurer since 2016.  Frank has also served on the ROOF (residence of our future), Finance, and Access committees. Frank holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.  He is retired after a 35 year career in the Corporate Research division of ExxonMobil.  Frank does some technology consulting, but mostly enjoys hiking, biking, and traveling with his wife Missy Staples.

Laura Meerovich, Secretary

Laura joined UUCSH in 2001 and served as part-time office administrator for 11 years, beginning in 2002. During that time she was an unofficial member of the Membership and Caring Committees, and an official member of the Giving Network phone crew (on which she continues to serve.)  She has been a member of the choir for the past 3 years. Since 2014 she has been employed as full-time office administrator for Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, only a mile away on Union Ave. in Somerville.  Laura has a B.A. in Spanish from Rutgers University, and she enjoys reading, traveling, and rooting for the NY Mets.
