There were two flooring accomplishments at UUCSH last week. First, the tile was finished being laid in Fellowship Hall. By good fortune, we had enough tile left from when we originally did the floor five years ago that could be used to fill in. The other flooring accomplishment was the installation of carpet on the second floor. This includes the new minister’s office, administrator’s office, and hallways.
The wood stairs will be sealed in the next week so PLEASE do not enter the renovation area, unless accompanied by an Access Committee member.
Finishing the lighting, the ceiling, and the flooring in Fellowship Hall
makes it feel almost complete. The first floor restrooms still need some work. They did have the sinks installed last week though.
We just learned that UUCSH is next in line for the elevator company. Once they finish their current install, we will have our elevator delivered and installed. It’s a matter of weeks at this point!
We passed our final electrical inspection for the building.
Last week, you saw photos of the exterior wall being magically closed up with bricks. Here’s the finished product. There’s little evidence that stairs and a door were in the location on the east side of the building.
For the time being, access to the building is only through the front doors. The crews will be working on pouring concrete for the sidewalks and doing other work on the exterior of the building. Please use extreme caution if you drive in the parking lot in the next week. Respect areas that are roped off. Thank you!
