Access Project Update 24Feb2015

What’s new in the Access Project this week?  Well, the big news is that the side stairs and side door at UUCSH have been removed.
The side stairs needed to be removed because the new air conditioning units will be placed where the stairs were located.

Until further notice, entry at UUCSH is ONLY through the front doors.  We understand that it may be difficult for some to manage; the situation is temporary.  When the rear door is safe to be used as an entrance, we will spread the word.

The plastic dividing wall has been removed in Fellowship Hall so one can see the area where the new restrooms, stairs, and elevator are located.  As of today, the walls have not been painted (but they will be soon!).

Much of the wood trim has been installed in the addition.  See the new entry doorway andDSC04019 sidelights.  The door is the same door that used to be on the back of the building (repurposed here).

The phone and network wiring were completed in the new offices last week.  The gas furnace for the new section of the building was connected and is now operable, making a better environment for paint to dry.

The permanent classrooms in Fellowship Hall now have door hardware…a small, but important detail.  The classrooms are available for use for Sunday School classes.

The finishing touches will go quickly, we hope.  The elevator–the key piece of this Accessibility project–is expected to arrive by the end of March.
