Foundation Wall 05Nov14 Here’s a recap of the last week at the UUCSH Access Project!

  • The cement block foundation walls were completed, and waterproofed.
  • The large pile of dirt is much smaller now that the area around the addition has been backfilled.
  • We were without heat for a few days due to changes in the HVAC system.
  • Heat has returned to Fellowship Hall.  The plumbers are working hard to get the new high-efficiency furnaces ready to install so we will have heat in the sanctuary.

We are now awaiting inspections from the Borough.  Once we pass inspections, the slab will be poured and framing will start next week.

We have developed a plan for some of the internal changes that will be taking place.  In the next week, Rev. Jennifer and Mr. B will be moving to their new temporary office space in the nursery.  As of this Sunday, November 16, the nursery will be in the southeast corner of Fellowship Hall.  Items from the kitchenette will be moved in the area of the TV wall in Fellowship Hall.  If you are interested in helping with this “moving ministry”, please let me know.  There will be several opportunities to help out over the next month.

This is an exciting time for the congregation!  But, change can be difficult for some people.  Please be patient and understanding during this temporary period of unsettledness.

The photo at the top is from November 5.  The photo from the bottom was taken November 11; note that the hole around the foundation has been filled.
