Will Magalio, Music Director
I have been the Music Director at UUCSH since 2002. I have been a full-time music teacher at Hunterdon Central Regional High School in Flemington, NJ for the past 17 years. I direct five class orchestras, the pit orchestra for the school’s musical, the Fiddle Club (which has performed for several UUCSH services) , the school wide Cabaret talent show, as well as the Marching Red Devils 193-member Marching Band.
Over the course of my career, I have traveled with these ensembles and performed in England, Scotland, Mexico, Italy, France, Belgium and Walt Disney World. This year, I will be taking the marching band and orchestra students to Austria and Prague. When not working at school or at church, I enjoy spending time with my wife Cindy and my daughter, Crina.
Susan Schneider, UUCSH Choir Director
I have sung professionally in the US and Europe with companies including Pauline Oliveros’ Deep Listening Institute, American Chamber Opera, Composers Concordance and Downtown Opera. Several composers, including Eric Ewazen, Charles Kuskin and John David Earnest, have written roles and song repertoire for me. My recording of Akanthos by Iannis Xenakis on Mode CD’s was praised by the New York Times as “superb.” I studied conducting at the Eastman School of Music, where I got my degree in voice and opera, and I have conducted children’s choirs and high school choirs. I teach voice privately and own a small virtual assistant business in my home in Chatham, where I live with my husband and two sons.
Yohko Yamawaki, Children’s Choir Director
Literally the moment after I became a member of UUCSH last year, I asked Rev. Marcia “I want to start a children’s choir. Who should I talk to?” So the children’s choir was born, and it has already garnered fabulous reviews! This is my 5th year as a Montessori preschool teacher at The Albrook School in Basking Ridge, NJ. I live in Gladstone, NJ, with my husband, Gray, my daughter, Naomi and my dog, Gil.
