Half of all funds collected this Sunday will be donated to the Samaritan Homeless Interim Program.
This faith-based, interfaith, and community-funded organization provides support to women, children, and men who are in desperate need of emergency housing and associated services. Many of those served are the working poor or those who are suffering from homelessness or being near homeless. Many also are hungry or suffer from substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, mental health issues, or neglect and isolation. Some of those served are returning veterans who may be homeless and out of work. SHIP offers an array of services, tailored to individual clients’ needs, which may include advocacy, emergency interim housing, interim counseling, and support services that enhance the clients’ chances of regaining their self-sufficiency. SHIP has organized medical consults and limited health services for their clients who could not afford health insurance, and has recruited volunteer medical personnel to provide the service. SHIP’s geographic scope includes Somerset County and surrounding regions. Please give generously.
