One of the most requested items by American troops serving around the world are… socks. UUCSH is proud to participate in New Jersey State Senator Kip Bateman’s “Socks for Soldiers” drive during the month of March. Donated socks will be distributed to American soldiers and veterans.
“Our heroes at home and abroad need our help to stay warm and comfortable,” said Bateman (R-16). “That’s why I’m partnering with Senator Corrado on a new effort to collect clean, unworn socks that are in high demand by our troops and our veterans. It’s an easy, inexpensive way that we can support those who sacrifice so much on our behalf.”
Senator Corrado said the awareness of the need for socks came from working with agencies such as Blue Star Moms, Adopt-A-Soldier and agencies providing help for homeless vets transitioning back into the workforce.
Please bring your new pairs of socks to UUCSH any Sunday, or during the week if you call first, 908-927-0601. The collection bin is located in the foyer of the main entrance. This collection will end on March 27.
