The Social Action Committee of UUCSH is proud to present the latest event from the Central Jersey Community Coalition at 123 E Cliff St on September 24th at 7pm.  The theme of the event is Identifying School Resources & Bridging Gaps: Community Dialogue.

This will be a back-to-school event to raise awareness about the resources kids need but are not getting in school. You’ll learn about these challenges and what actions can be taken. The discussion will entail the following

  1. Ways for schools to end bullying
  2. Anti-racism strategies
  3. The lack of sufficient mental health resources in K-12 and
  4. The need for school cafeterias to provide sufficient healthy food, which directly impacts student learning.

Speakers will include Ashley Chiappano, Safe Schools Coordinator with Garden State Equality, James Williams IV, Youth Justice Field Organizer for the NJ Institute for Social Justice, Melissa Stages, Somerset County Education Specialist and more.  The presenters will be taking questions and there will be a panel from all the speakers to close out the event.
