The annual meeting for Unitarian Universalists (called General Assembly, or GA) will be held June 21-25 in New Orleans, Louisiana this year.  Several UUCSH members are planning to attend.  It is at this GA that Rev. Jennifer Kelleher will be accepted into Final Fellowship with the UUA!  Come to show your support! (and to have a darn good time!)

GA Registration and the GA Housing reservations open at 9 a.m. EST.

In the past, housing reservations have gone very quickly.  Hotel rooms start at $149 per night, and sleep up to 4 people.  Dormitory rooms and UU home hospitality are other options which also open for registration on March 1 at 9am.

Steeped in a history of influences from Europe, the Caribbean, and Africa, New Orleans is one of America’s most culturally and historically-rich destinations. It is a city known for its music, food, architecture, and festivals. The average high temperature in June is 89 degrees and the average low is 71.

New Orleans is also known as a place of re-birth following the devastation of Katrina in 2005. Many Unitarian Universalists have contributed time and funds in the effort to rebuild both the city and the congregations in the area.  By going to New Orleans, we can both celebrate our successes and recommit to the relationships that have been forged with this community.  There will be many service projects to participate in!

Programming for children and youth are offered.  If you have questions about what to expect at GA, please ask Rev. Jennifer, Chris Buja, Melanie Davis, Ann Perry, Nadine Kadell Sapirman, the Kitchens or Ed Horch.  You need not be in a position of leadership to attend GA; anyone can go!
