Many Faiths, One Home

Author Avianca Bouchedid, Written Oct 12, 2017

UUCSH  is proud to be participating in a community event to contemplate, educate and act about environmental concerns.  At least eight faiths will be present to talk about why taking care of the Earth and its inhabitants is important to them from a religious perspective.

We will be gathering prayerfully as a multi-faith, multi-generational community drawn from congregations throughout Somerset, Middlesex, Mercer, and Hunterdon Counties, to increase awareness, action & advocacy around our shared responsibility to care for the planet, including:

  • a call to action from communal religious and civic leaders
  • opportunities for adults and children to learn about the teachings of our various traditions on the theme of caring for God’s gift of the world we inhabit
  • a variety of shared opportunities to take action to protect the planet
  • fellowship and refreshment to follow
