Multigenerational Craft Activity during Coffee Hour

On this autumn morning we will take time to remember and celebrate the lives of loved ones. We invite all members and friends to bring photos of deceased loved ones (family, friends, and co-workers) with them to service. Together we will create a community altar of remembrance.

November 1st and 2nd are All Saints & All Souls Day, from the Christian tradition, a time set aside to remember our ancestors and those we loved. It is also the time of Dia de los Muertos, a holiday celebrated in parts of Mexico and acknowledged around the world in other cultures.  One of the most familiar symbols of Dia de los Muertos are calaveras de azucar:  sugar skulls.  Together we will learn more about the significance of sugar skulls and during coffee hour children and youth may decorate one to take home.
