Focus of Sabbatical: Congregational Innovation- “Congregations…”

Author DLFD Christopher Buja, Written Jan 14, 2015

My sabbatical will focus on three areas:

  1. Congregational Innovation
  2. Professional Growth
  3. Personal Renewal

Congregational Innovation will be further divided into “Congregations” and “Beyond” as inspired by Rev. Peter Morales white paper by the same name: identifying ways to strengthen RE and AFD within the congregation, as well as how UUCSH can reach more effectively into the “beyond”  for those in our community throughout the lifespan.

CONGREGATIONAL INNOVATION

“Congregations…”

  1. Workshop Rotation Model

Learn more about it via online resources, conversations with congregations using the model, consider how it could be applied to UUCSH in concert with theme based worship services.

2.  Multi-generational worship alternatives

Learn more about it via conversations with congregations piloting variations of multi-gen worship, with RE/AFD taking place at a time other than concurrent with worship service, consider applicable principles at UUCSH.

3. Volunteer identification, recruitment, development, support, rotation

Identify what (if any) congregations that profess not only NOT having volunteer shortfalls, but a surplus- and find out how they did it!  Apply to UUCSH for the sake of a more efficient, effective, and excellent use of volunteers.
