Follow up to Children’s Chapel on 05JUL15

Author Sarah Ahrens, Written Jul 8, 2015

Children’s Chapel on Sunday July 5, 2015 began the Wisdom from the Hebrew Scriptures series- specifically the story of David and Goliath!
Before getting into the David and Goliath story, we started by drawing an image from some of our own favorite stories and then sharing what about that story made it one of our favorites.
Then we heard the David and Goliath story and shared what fears David overcame to defeat Goliath and how did David find the courage to overcome those fears.
The exploration of the David and Goliath story will continue this Sunday July 12 as we share on some of our own fears and the values we embrace to overcome those fears.  David had his rocks and slingshot to defeat Goliath- what are our metaphorical “five smooth stones” we carry to overcome fears, stand up to bullies, make the world a more just place?
5 smooth stones
If you missed last week- that’s okay- come on out this Sunday July 12 to hear the story again- and even do a reenactment of the story!
A separate blog post will outline the remaining Summer Children’s Chapel sessions.
