Follow up to Religious Education Sunday 22MAY16

Author Sarah Ahrens, Written May 25, 2016

Thank you to all who joined in celebrating what the children and youth have explored and learned this year in religious education, and for showing appreciation for the many adult volunteers who led the children and youth in their spiritual adventures!
For volunteers who could not attend- fear not!- your appreciation gift is waiting for you on the table outside my office in Fellowship Hall.  (Please note that the oversized marshmallows probably don’t need more than 15-20 seconds before their sufficiently microwaved…unless you want your s’more supersized!)

With another Religious Education Sunday in the books, it’s time to commit to being a volunteer for the 2016-17 congregational year!  “RE-Connect” cards were inserted in last Sunday’s order of service and will continue to be available in the orders of service and pews in the coming weeks.  Please fill one out and drop it in the basket to indicate how you’d like to support religious education in the coming year.  It takes all levels and kinds of commitment to make RE happen- ongoing throughout the year, short term event helpers, leading, assisting, mentoring, out in front teaching, behind the scenes organizing- religious education epitomizes the concept, “It takes a village…”.

You can contact me at or any member of the Religious Education Vision Team- Jennie Belmonte, Carol Brown, Dawn Bodrogi- with questions or ideas for religious education!
