Another round of thanks to all who made the UUCSH Winter Holiday Pageant a success-as always! Caryn Phillips as Director, Alicia Harabin as Assistant Director, Susan Schneider as Adult Choir Director, Will Magalio as Accompanist and Director of Young Musicians, and Yohko Yamawaki as Children’s Choir Director, and so many youth and adults behind the scenes helping children get to where they need to be during the performance!
We certainly had a lot of fun with this year’s pageant- and maybe a few groans at the puns and knock-knock jokes- but let’s not forget the message beneath the humor. As the “Inclusivity Nativity” exhorted us- the message of peace, love, and joy to the world isn’t just for the folks who are “traditionally” showcased in the nativity. Working to do unto others as we would have them do unto us is for everyone to practice, yesterday, today, and tomorrow! That message is embedded in our Unitarian Universalist principles and you’ve probably seen lists that illustrate how most, if not all, major world religions and philosophies advocate such a neighborly way of being.
Have a safe and happy holidays and new year!
