Missy Staples and I want to ramp up the enthusiasm and enrollment for the Adult Faith Development series, “How to talk so kids will listen and listen so kids will talk”, which begins Wednesday January 23, 2013 7-9 p.m.

Missy has led this series in the past and before that was a participant herself.  Having benefited so much from the book itself and the sharing among participants she is eager to facilitate the classes so others may also gain such invaluable knowledge and wisdom!

I’ve asked Missy to share some tidbits from the series so that we might entice more folks to join the class.  Here is something to whet your appetite…

“What do you say on a hectic morning when your child looks at breakfast and says ‘That oatmeal looks like throw up; I’m not eating it!’ Is this the beginning of a battle that will leave you both exhausted at the start of a busy day? Is there something you can say that will diffuse the tension? Is there something you can say that you won’t regret later in the day? Find out when you join other parents in week 1 of our Parenting Communication Workshop to learn about helping children deal with their feelings.”

I’ll tell ya- I may still be a couple months from being a first-time parent, but I have a renewed interest to participate in this class and saving these words of wisdom for future reference!

Call or email to confirm your registration and stop by UUCSH office to pick up a copy of the workbook, 908-927-0601, dlfd@uucsh.org, 123 E. Cliff St. Somerville NJ 08876
