It can always be a season of giving…of your time!

Happy new year!- almost…
While you may have had enough of the rampant holiday messages of consumerism, giving and getting things, let me urge you to consider giving a little more- of your time!  Specifically giving your time to our Future Leaders At Somerset Hills- FLASH- youth group.

As we wish David Allison, youth advisor, blessings on his new journey to North Carolina, we lament the loss of his commitment as one of our youth advisors.  We are still blessed with the commitments of Michelle Edgar and Ed Horch as advisors- but that is a pretty lean rotation for youth advising.  Imagine if the Boston Red Sox only had two starting pitchers to take turns in the rotation?!  They would get awfully tired quickly…

We would very much like at least one more and preferably a pool of 4-5 advisors to ensure our youth have the support they need and that no one or two advisors is overwhelmed by a commitment of time.
FLASH meets approximately twice per month during Sunday services, usually going off site.  Though we hope to have some space on site for FLASH when construction is complete.

Even if you don’t feel ready to be a “starting” advisor, a “bullpen” of advisors would be a big help too.  If there were enough adults willing to do 2-3 FLASH meetings, it would be a big help to Ed and Michelle so they could take turns.
Please let me, Ed or Michelle know if you are interested in helping our 8th-12th graders.  In the midst of many end of year charitable giving solicitations, please consider giving of your time to this meaningful ministry!
