Welcome Words from Rev. Kelleher’s Installation Service

Reverend Jennifer at Installation Service, January 12, 2014

For over two years, our congregation had been in a state of ministerial transition, without a settled minister.  During that time, we were served by very well by a consulting minister, an interim minister, lay leaders, and Metro New York District staff.  Last spring, after a year of planning and hard work, our congregation’s elected Ministerial Search Committee informed us of their recommended candidate, the Reverend Jennifer Kelleher.  We met with her, listened to her preach, broke bread with her, were uplifted and comforted by her…and knew deep in our hearts that she was the right minister for us.  We voted UNANIMOUSLY to call Reverend Jennifer Kelleher as our settled minister.

We are no longer in transition.  We—both the congregation and Reverend Kelleher—are settled.  We have found each other, and we are building a wonderful partnership of shared ministry together.  It’s a relationship built on mutual respect and admiration, on compassion, on learning together, giving of ourselves, and investing our time, energy, talents, and resources in UUCSH.

At UUCSH, we encourage each other to grow in spirit, to become our best selves and to answer the call to make the world a more just and peaceful place.  We will be doing this in shared ministry with Reverend Jennifer Kelleher.
