Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Somerset Hills

Open minds, loving hearts, helping hands

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Somerset Hills has a full time Minister and a full-time Director of Lifespan Faith Development.  The staff team also includes part-time Office Administrator, Accompanist, and Choir Director.  This vibrant team of professionals helps the congregation to deepen their spiritual connections and put their faith into action.

Jennifer Kelleher, Minister

Rev. Jennifer Kelleher Rev. Jennifer Kellehergrew up within an inter-faith family and in a Unitarian Universalist church in New England.  She is passionate about Unitarian Universalism. The faith has transformed her life and Unitarian Universalist communities have long supported and challenged her to be her best self.  She especially enjoys working alongside other Unitarian Universalist leaders to nurture and spread our resounding message of love, hope and healing.

Jennifer proudly serves as the Minister of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Somerset Hills in Somerville, New Jersey.  Immediately prior to her current settlement she held the position of Development Associate at Cathedral Kitchen, a nonprofit organization in Camden, New Jersey.  Jennifer has served on the clergy team at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Cherry Hill, New Jersey and as a Chaplain Resident at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.  She is a Board Member at Murray Grove Retreat & Renewal Center in Lanoka Harbor, New Jersey — the birthplace of American Universalism.  She is also a trained facilitator of The Fahs Collaborative curriculum Beloved Conversations: Meditations on Race and Ethnicity, developed by Dr. Mark Hicks.

Prior to professional ministry, Jennifer held a decade-long career in pharmaceutical marketing and has also worked in public relations and as a television news reporter. She holds a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism from Emerson College (Boston, MA) and a Master of Divinity from Meadville Lombard Theological School (Chicago, IL).

Christopher Buja, Director of Lifespan Faith Development

Chris Buja Chris Bujabegan serving as the Director of Lifespan Faith Development for the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Somerset Hills in August of 2006.

Chris takes joy in seeing children, youth, and adults move from the large group worship experience to small group ministries for personal growth to ministry teams in service to the congregation and community.  Chris works with the Religious Education Vision Team and Adult Faith Development Team to produce a balance of experiences in community, learning, worship, leadership development and putting one’s “faith into action” that leads to personal and communal transformation.

Chris is originally from Massachusetts and still honors his New England roots by supporting his native sports franchises (most notably the Patriots and Red Sox- much to the chagrin of many in the congregation…).

Growing up in a liberal Christian church, Chris later ventured into evangelical Christianity and then discovered Unitarian Universalism in his early twenties – in Corpus Christi, Texas.  His connection and commitment to Unitarian Universalism grew with increasing participation in congregational life, leading Chris to pursue a professional role as a religious educator, as well as the part time Growth and Vitality Consultant for the Metro New York District.
