We have embraced family ministry, in which children and youth participate in the worship service as full and important members of our faith community. Just like adults, children learn by doing and experiencing firsthand, which includes worshiping with our entire fellowship.

UUCSH also provides Religious Education classes on the first and third Sundays of the month, from mid-September through early May. Soul Matters is for age 4 through grade 2, and Holy Troublemakers and Unconventional Saints is for grades 3 through 8.

Summer programming is usually offered as a combined elementary class for several weeks in the summer beginning in mid-June or early July through mid-August.  

Children in lower and upper elementary/middle school begin as part of the congregation in worship and are then dismissed to continue in class.

Soul Matters (grades preK–2)

Children in grades preK–2 will begin in worship at 10:30 am and be dismissed to their class in the Rainbow Room during worship.

Soul Matters is a curriculum designed to align with our UU values and follows monthly themes. 

Holy Troublemakers and Unconventional Saints (grades 3–8)

Children in grades 3–8 will begin in worship at 10:30 am and be dismissed to their class in the Green Room during worship.

Holy Troublemakers and Unconventional Saints is a dynamic curriculum where class members learn about people, past and present, of diverse faiths who worked for more love, kindness, and justice, even when that rocked the religious boat. Class members are also encouraged to embrace the values shared as they discuss and put into action how they, too, can become Holy Troublemakers.
