We have embraced family ministry, in which children and youth participate in the worship service as full and important members of our faith community. Just like adults, children learn by doing and experiencing firsthand, which includes worshiping with our entire fellowship.

UUCSH also works collaboratively with five other UU congregations to offer UU Kids Connect, with online meetups for grades K-5 and for grades 6-8 on Thursday evenings, once per month per grouping. See the UUCSH calendar for more information regarding times.

UU Kids Connect was founded in spring 2020 in response to the COVID-19 crisis. Creating a network of faith support for UU families and congregations in need, the mission of this inter-congregational collective has been to strengthen our denomination by widening the circle of connections for young UUs, using the virtual space.

Liberal Religious Education leaders from six UU congregations in the Eastern Region collaborate to provide socials, worship, and Religious Education programs for young UUs everywhere.

In summer 2020, UU Kids Connect hosted a twice-weekly summer program for eight weeks, each week exploring one of the eight Unitarian Universalist principles for grades K-5, and twice-monthly themed socials for grades 6-8. With over 100 registered families, UU Kids Connect has successfully connected young UUs from over 17 different states and two countries, and reinforced our denominational values in the process.
