We have embraced family ministry, in which children and youth participate in the worship service as full and important members of our faith community. Just like adults, children learn by doing and experiencing firsthand, which includes worshiping with our entire fellowship.

UUCSH also provides Religious Education classes on the first and third Sundays of the month, from mid-September through early May. Soul Matters is for age 4 through grade 2, and Travel in Time is for grades 3 through 6.

Summer programming is usually offered as a combined elementary class for several weeks in the summer beginning in mid-June or early July through mid-August.

Children in lower and upper elementary begin as part of the congregation in worship and are then dismissed to continue in class.

Soul Matters (grades preK–2)

Children in grades preK–2 will begin in worship at 10:30 am and be dismissed to their class in the Rainbow Room during worship.

Soul Matters is a curriculum designed to align with our UU values and follows monthly themes

Travel in Time (grades 3–6)

Children in grades 3–6 will begin in worship at 10:30 am and be dismissed to their class in the Green Room during worship.

Travel in Time is a dynamic curriculum that visits UU ancestors throughout various time periods and ties their values to present day examples. Travel in Time students will also have the opportunity to meet with and interview members of our congregation throughout the year.

See the UUCSH calendar for more information regarding times.
